Projects

Below are the current projects by Fera Australia.

We have started a pipeline of staggered projects, each being completed at a different stages in the next 5-10 years. By starting with two small, 24MW projects, Triabunna and Wombelano, we will gain the necessary experience of windfarm construction in Australia, using our 20 years of Italian expertise. After which, we will commission our largest planned project, Seymour, with a capacity of over 600MW. Currently Seymour will be Australia’s largest wind farm.

Every project Fera Australia selects is first analysed for a strong wind resource, which is critical to a successful wind farm. Windspeed modelling is performed based on historic wind data and location specific wind readings.

Detailed local information is collected for each project. Several fixed masts (100–120m) will be erected and wind data collected throughout the planning period. Additionally, land based SODAR equipment will be installed, moved every 6 months to provide thorough, wide spread, and detailed wind data.
